Appleford was originally part of a land grant from William Penn dating back to the late 1600s. The beautifully landscaped gardens at Appleford were first designed by Thomas Sears in the 1920s to highlight the sprawling fieldstone farmhouse designed by architect R. Brognard Okie. Appleford provides a serene sense of beauty in every season and is carefully maintained as an
arboretum and bird sanctuary.
