Emerging from a winter hiatus, these seasonally closed gardens in America's Garden Capital now extend a warm welcome as they reopen their gates to visitors once again. This reopening not only signifies the exciting advent of a new season, but an opportunity to see what the garden staff and volunteers have been hard at work at all winter!

Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library
Re-opening March 2, 2024
The Winterthur Garden features a historic “wild garden” set within nearly 1,000 acres of Brandywine Valley meadows, ponds, woodlands, and wildlife. The life’s work of Henry Francis du Pont (1880–1969), the garden is managed to preserve his artistic design.
Shofuso
Re-opening March 20, 2024
Shofuso is a 17th-century-style Japanese house and nationally ranked garden in Philadelphia’s West Fairmount Park that reflects the history of Japanese culture in Philadelphia dating from the 1876 Centennial Exposition to the present.
Chanticleer

A 35-acre pleasure garden known for being visually exciting, imaginative and romantic. Contemporary design complements historic features. Plantings range from native to exotic, hardy to tropical. Come partake in gardens, water features, and natural areas that continually change each season.
Andalusia Historic House, Gardens and Arboretum
Re-opening April 1, 2024
Andalusia is a natural paradise located on a beautiful stretch of the Delaware River in Bensalem, PA. It’s a great place to spend a day exploring history and nature. The historic house, a National Historic Landmark, is surrounded by 50 acres of lush gardens, woodlands, and waterfront. Visitors can tour the mansion and gardens, or simply relax, enjoy the scenery, and have a picnic lunch on the grounds.
The historic house is filled with art and personal possessions from the 1790s to the 1970s, showcasing an unparalleled look into the nation’s past through the eyes of the influential Biddle family that lived there. The gardens and arboretum mix preserved native woodlands with spectacular gardens that evoke the romantic English landscape tradition.
Wyck Historic House, Garden and Farm

The Wyck Rose Garden dates to the 1820s and is widely recognized as the oldest rose garden in original plan in America. Included are the original rose plants from the 1824 design, as well as plants from the 18th century kitchen garden.
Nemours Estate

Alfred I. duPont’s former home, Nemours combines the precision and majesty of French formal gardens with the natural beauty of native woodlands. Guests will enjoy the historic Nemours Mansion, grand fountains, intricate annual displays, and sweeping natural areas.
Mt. Cuba Center

A hidden gem featuring captivating native blooms. Find a moment of quiet and connect with nature as you explore enchanting woodlands, meadows, ponds, trails, and formal gardens. Open Wednesday – Sunday, April – November.
The Gardens at Mill Fleurs and Tiffany Perennials

NEW in 2024: Open Garden hours Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00am to 4:00pm and Saturdays from 1:00 to 4:00pm.
Five acres of plantings on steep wooded slopes embrace diversity and experimentation. The garden collections are located around two 18th century mills and are organized by plant families of color. Guided tours encourage experimentation and sharing the joy of gardening.
PHS Meadowbrook Farm

A series of outdoor “Garden Rooms” designed by florist J. Liddon Pennock, Jr. which include display garden, pollinator garden, flower garden, succulent garden, wall garden and rain garden, offering ever changing beauty mid-April through mid-October.
